What this service is. Expert help in using EcoDesign: we check your inputs, run the research tools with you, explain what the results mean, and walk you through each Design step so you make informed decisions faster.

What it is not. It is not a design commission. We do not design your site, and we do not take responsibility for design decisions. EcoDesign outputs are tools to inform your decisions, not final designs. Anything you build, plant, excavate or spend money on must be checked by qualified professionals in your country.

How a guided session works

Everything happens in your own project.

The work is done in your EcoDesign account, on the project you name, and it stays there when we finish. You keep it, you can regenerate it next spring, and we never ask for your password.

We check, run and explain; you decide.

We check that your boundary and site data are right, run the tools on your project, and explain what each result says about your plot and where it may be wrong. When a choice has to be made — a zone, a component, a practice, an order of work — we lay out the options and trade-offs the tools show, and you choose. Each meeting note lists the decisions you took.

You finish able to do it alone.

At the end you get the application's reports, a short written brief and a walk-through of your own project, so you can run every tool we used without us.

Guided Research Review

Your site data, checked and explained.

What we go through together

  1. You fill in the short intake form and accept the agreement.
  2. We check your site boundary and site data with you and ask once for anything missing.
  3. We enter or correct the data in your project, with your confirmation.
  4. We run every Research path your plot needs — up to all 16, from soil, climate and water to fire resilience and garden types.
  5. We read every result and pick out the facts that matter for your decisions, plus anything that looks contradictory or needs checking.
  6. You receive the Research report from the app and a 2-page brief: what your site data says, and what to verify before you act.
  7. A 20-minute call to go through the results, and 14 days of email questions about using the app on this project.

Guided Design Sprint

Every site-logic step of the Design module, walked through on your project.

What we go through together

  1. Starts from a completed Guided Research Review.
  2. Meeting 1 (45 min): you set your goals, priorities and what you will not do; we explain the Options Explorer results; you pick the practices, garden types and systems to keep on your shortlist.
  3. We enter your sectors (sun, wind, water flow, views, noise, fire, access) from the research and your local knowledge, run the sector analysis and explain it. You confirm they describe your site.
  4. We prepare two or three zoning options from the tools' logic, each with the reasons and trade-offs the results show.
  5. Meeting 2 (45 min): we walk the sectors and zone options on screen; you choose the zoning, adjust it live and set the components for each zone.
  6. We enter your zones and components, run the plant, animal, structure, technology and soil shortlists and narrow them to the preferences you stated, explaining each one.
  7. We run and explain the water and soil sections, and flag what a local professional must verify.
  8. We generate the implementation plan and review it against your priorities.
  9. You receive the Design-stage report and a 4-page brief: your decisions, what the tools say about them, and what to check before you act.
  10. A 10-minute recorded walk-through of your project, one follow-up session to enter changes you decide, and 30 days of email questions about using the app on this project.

On a Garden Sprint, goals, zones and components are settled in one 45-minute meeting instead of two.

Your project holds the zones, components and plan you chose, and you can run every tool we used on your own.

5 of 5 founder places left for the Research Review · 5 of 5 for the Guided Design Sprint. A place is yours once your invoice is paid; we hold it for 72 hours after we send your quote. A Full Sprint takes one place of each.

Prices exclude VAT. Private clients in the EU pay 21 % Dutch VAT. Businesses in the EU with a VAT number are invoiced without Dutch VAT (reverse charge). Clients outside the EU are invoiced without Dutch VAT. Your invoice shows the treatment that applies to you.

We take on three Guided Design Sprints and three Research Reviews a month, so each gets real hours. If the month is full, we tell you the earliest start before anything is invoiced.

Garden or Ecological?

Garden is for plots up to 2,000 m², for household use, with no farm business and no water earthworks. Ecological is everything else. We confirm the tier with you before you pay; if the site turns out to belong in the other tier, the difference is invoiced or refunded — the steps are never cut quietly.

Credits are not your problem during the Sprint

All AI runs for the service are included — you will never be asked to buy credits while we work. At handover your balance is at least what it was when we started; a Guided Design Sprint adds the credits of the Design unlock on top (900 Garden · 1,500 Ecological). The Design unlock itself is included in the Guided Design Sprint and shown as a line on your invoice, so you can see it is not charged twice.

What is not included

No Sprint includes:

  • design decisions taken on your behalf
  • site visits
  • construction drawings
  • planting plans down to the position of each plant
  • nursery sourcing, quantities or costs
  • engineering of water earthworks
  • structural or energy calculations, or anything a local professional must sign off
  • permits and regulations
  • safety or hazard assessment — fire and flood results in EcoDesign are for information only
  • plant guilds, the seasonal garden planner, Visualizer renders and scenes, passive-solar floor plans and practice transition (see below)

Guilds, garden plans, renders, floor plans? Your project is unlocked after a Guided Design Sprint, and the walk-through shows where each of these tools is — the Help Center covers them and your 30 days of email questions include them. If you would rather work through one of them with us, we quote an extended guided session by the hour after your Sprint: we operate or guide the tool on your instruction and explain the results, and you make every choice in the session. EcoDesign does not take design commissions.

Questions before you apply

Who takes the decisions?
You do, every one of them. We check your inputs, run the tools and explain what the results show, including the options and trade-offs. You choose, and each meeting note records the decisions you took. EcoDesign takes no responsibility for design decisions.
What if my credits run out during the Sprint?
They won't be your concern. All AI runs for the service are included, we top up if a run needs more, and at handover your balance is at least what it was when we started — plus the unlock credits on a Guided Design Sprint.
What do I need to have ready?
A verified EcoDesign account, the plot’s location and boundary, and what you know about it: soil, water, slope, what grows there, a few photos and your goals. The intake form asks for each. The working days start counting once everything is in.
How long does it take?
A Research Review is handed over within 7 working days of your data being complete; a Guided Design Sprint within 15 working days, including the meetings. The clock pauses while we wait for something from you.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
As a consumer in the EU you have a 14-day right to withdraw. Because the work starts at your request before those 14 days end, you confirm in the form that you lose that right once the service is fully performed; if you withdraw earlier, you pay only for the work already done. If, after the Research Review call, you do not know what to check or do first on your site, tell us within 14 days and we refund the Research Review in full. The Guided Design Sprint is complete when every listed step is carried out; it has no refund guarantee beyond your legal rights.
VAT — what will my invoice show?
Prices exclude VAT. Private clients in the EU pay 21 % Dutch VAT; EU businesses with a VAT number are invoiced without it (reverse charge), and clients outside the EU are invoiced without Dutch VAT. Your invoice shows the treatment that applies to you, based on the country and status you give in the form.
Can you do the design for me?
No. We help you use EcoDesign well; the design, and every decision in it, stays yours. A request to design a guild, a garden or a house and send it over is answered with an offer of a guided session instead.
